Independent design curator, Head of Design at the School of Form, Poznan, Poland. Design critic, journalist, publicist. Ever since she switched from writing about design in “Elle Decoration” – the magazine she had introduced to the Polish market and chief-edited for seven years (2000-2007) – to creating and organizing design exhibitions, Agnieszka Jacobson-Cielecka became one of the most prominent promoters of young designers from Poland and abroad. Between 2008 and 2011 she became the artistic director of Lodz Design Festival (www.lodzdesign.com) and since then has been curating several of the main festival events (Play&Joke 2008, Design Tales 2009, Crumple Zone 2010). Since 2011 she is the director of the design program at School of Form in Poznan, Poland (www.sof.edu.pl) – a new educational project created in cooperation with Lidewij Edelkoort under the auspices of Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities. She also heads the department of Domestic Design there. Her most renowned curatorial projects are Polska Folk, Materia Prima, Dziecinada: Polish Design for Children, and Unpolished (together with Pawel Grobelny – www.unpolished.pl) – presented at several festivals and design museums worldwide.
Editor-in-chief of "M jak mieszkanie" magazine. Educated art historian, stylist, author and journalist for such magazines as "Architektura-murator", "Dom&Wnętrze", "Dobre Wnętrze", "Futu". In 2011 she relaunched "M jak mieszkanie", which has become a handbook to decorating the apartment with a modern lifestyle character. Today it is one of the most popular interior design magazines. Each month its readers not only learn about the latest trends, get comprehensive advices, but also get to know recommended designers. She has also created the DESIGNER ZONE of "M jak mieszkanie" – a platform of meeting for professionals and individual clients. She has a weakness for fashion, beautiful objects and architecture. She believes that the knowledge about design should be promoted at every opportunity because it concerns everything that surrounds us.
Editor in chief of the monthly magazine "Czas na Wnętrze". She studied painting with prof. Stefan Gierowski (graduation in 1996) and journalism with Christopher Kąkolewski. It made her sensitive to the colour, light and form. Although as a child she did not know the word "design", she passionately watched animated series "Miś Uszatek". Everything there was designed! Little Hare's scarf, Piglet's earmuffs and Aunt Chrum-Chrum's kitchen. Grużewska loves museums. She feels great both in large ones: Louvre, National Gallery, Stedelijk and small ones e.g. Museum in Oporów. For many years she has worked in the interior design magazines, where on one hand she writes about the history of design, and on the other hand she searches for young talents and new trends. She loves it because she still gets surprised! She considers creativity the most beautiful feature of character.
